Old Itinerary for Thailand to Africa across the Indian Ocean (IO).  We have decided not to stay in SE Asia for an entire year as originally intended.  We also decided to go south around Africa instead of up the Red Sea to the Mediterranean.  (Too many problems brewing in the Middle East for our taste).    There weren't too many places to stop across the IO - and you may have to look up some of these places on the internet - as you may not have heard of them before.

Mid Nov 00 - Arrive Pulau Langkawi, Malaysia

Early Dec 00 - Leave Langkawi, arrive Phuket, Thailand – (about 120 nm)

Mid Jan 01- Leave Phuket, and sail back to Langkawi, Malaysia

End Jan 01 - Leave Langkawi and sail to Maldives (about 1700 nm)

Feb 9th-15th - Detour to Sri Lanka for engine problems

Mid Feb 01 - Arrive Addu, Maldives

Early Mar 01 - Leave Addu, Maldives arrive Chagos Archipelago – (about 350 nm)

Mar - Jun 01 - Cruise Chagos - Peros Banhos/Salomon Atolls

Early Jun 01 - Leave Chagos, arrive Nosy Bé, Madagascar or Mayotte - (about 1400 nm)

Jul to early Oct 01 - Cruise Comoros, Mayotte and west coast of Madagascar – (about 800 nm)

Mid Oct 01 - Leave Madagascar and sail Mozambique Channel -  arrive Richard's Bay, Republic of South Africa (RSA)  – (about 900 nm)

Early Jan 02 - Leave Richard's Bay and round the Cape of Good Hope to Cape Town, RSA

Jan 02 - Back in the Atlantic Ocean, will update our itinerary for our Atlantic crossing at a future date!!
